About the event
„Letting Go“
Tonight we will gather even more vulnerable then usual, as we have Sina who will take photos of us while we step into letting go of our fears and boxes!
We will guide you through our well known Workshop "Body Appreciation". In this workshop, every participant can easly choose and descide on the spot how far they want to go, how vulnerable they want to be and how much they want to share! The empowerment afterwards will in anyway be amazing.
This is a free event. Please only register to this free event, if you can fully commit to it. No consent workshop needed.
If you have any questions about the photos and their usage, you can contact Sina directly, after reading you will find her Phone Number below.
"About the Workshop"
Come let go of your body image hang ups!
This is for you if you are the person who always stands behind other people in pictures, or makes sure to pose *just* the right ‘most flattering’ way, or makes sure everyone knows they need to ask you for approval before posting a photo of you… Or maybe you avoid pictures altogether?
Or for those who are so in their head about how a position makes their body look during sex that they miss out on all the pleasure. Or maybe you insist on having the lights off?
Or perhaps you’re the person who is already feeling guilty about something you ate because of how it might show up on your belly tomorrow?
We all have body parts we learned to hate, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t love them.
Open to all genders, we will use playful curiosity and appreciation games to heal our relationship with how we look.
Note: partial and full nudity are optional for this workshop. While you can choose not to take your clothes off, please be aware that there is a strong possibility that you will be seeing others in the nude.
*About the Project*
Mentored by Ostkreuz School of Photography, the project is inviting people to share their stories of „letting go“ - letting go of expectations, of perceived imperfections, of pains or fears.
Opening up can be hard. Living in each of our beautiful bodies, a duality of connect and disconnect, of complex emotions and thoughts. Feeling into ourselves takes guts. Wherever you are in your very own journey, the aim of this project is to evolve with you. To capture a moment and be part of your experience. To show and appreciate people as they are, from head to toe, vulnerable and authentic. To grieve and embrace paths of past and future between safeties, taking risks and healing.
*Artist Bio*
Sina’s work is driven by a deep desire to see, feel and understand the social dynamics of urban realities. Through her lens, the German artist with Colombian roots is a perceptive and gentle observer – unveiling depth and meaning in human interaction.
It’s not just individual moments in time, that spark her interest but the people, each on their own journey, and in reflection: allow the viewer's story to shape the gaps, to open up a realm of interpretation in volatile proximity.
With a “strong feeling of people, and how to capture energy and life on the street [she is] creating work that goes beyond the ordinary, [...] trying to suspend the moment into something else.”* Her images “address very different subject matter yet they share a similar delicate quality [...]. It's hard to describe but [her] images feel like they are so much about the atmosphere and feeling of the moment unfolding; as if [she is] not only communicating what [she] saw, but also how those moments made [her] feel.”* *LensCulture Reviews 2020
„With a vivid imagination and social concerns [she] searches for what lies under the surface“*. Her photography shows a „restless spirit“*, visualizing „abstract notions related to identity and human relationships.“* *LensCulture Review 2022
Sina studied Communications & Film (M.A.), Psychology and Cultural Philosophy at Leipzig University. She has a strong background in journalism that took her from Leipzig to Spain and New York City. Sina is currently based in Berlin.
