About the event
We are looking for participants who are interested in learning more about Somatic psychology. We will be a small group who would meet on a weekly basis for somatic sessions. It also includes a "one to one" coaching sessions to get a deeper understanding of where each participant is and what they want to work on. The material is based on practices like Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal theory, Authentic Movement & Narm. The group is for people who want to work on personal processes in a guided setting, and who already have some experience with embodiment and who are looking for deepening and understanding of their healing of trauma, anxiety or depression. The sessions will also involve a group process with the possibility to share and support. This practice group is not intended to replace therapy, but is meant to work as a somatic support alongside whatever therapy the participant is undertaking. The first run of this group will be five sessions on the following Sundays: June 5th, 3rd July, 24th july, 7th aug and 28th Aug. Each session will be 2-2,5h in the evening. The participation fee for all five sessions including a short coaching call will be on a sliding scale 50-80€ depending on what you are able to contribute. If you are interested in taking part please send an email to: mich2394@gmail.com About the facilitators: JOHAN PLANEFELDT is a Swedish film director and somatic educator. In 2011 he discovered his love for contact improvisation which led him on a deep embodiment research where he studied practices like Authentic Movement, Body Mind Centering, Butoh, Holotropic breathwork & Vipassana meditation. The last years of studies have been dedicated to trauma informed somatic therapy like Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal theory and NARM. He is regularly facilitating trance dance and authentic movement workshops alongside directing films on the topics of somatics and trance. MICHELLE JIMENEZ LORA is a Colombian social worker and dancer who recently completed her dance therapy training. Part of the Tanzfähig inclusive dance company in Berlin and facilitator of dance improvisation workshops, her main interest and movement research is rooted in somatic practices (yoga, breath work, Feldenkrais), CI and tribal dance forms and how these can be translated into personal healing experiences.
